Community nursing team’s pride after picking up award
The Trust's Liskeard-Looe Community Nursing team have spoken of their pride after winning an award.
The South West Community and Primary Care Nursing Awards were held in Somerset. The team were shortlisted for the 'Working Collaboratively Towards the Future' award.
This award focuses on nurses in the community who have worked well together. It also looks at how they have worked with others outside of their team. The award also highlights the positive impact of patient care. This is by working well together across an integrated neighbourhood.
The Liskeard-Looe team were one of a number of teams up for the award. But it was Liskeard-Looe Community Nurse team who were crowned winners.
The awards celebrate outstanding nurses, teams, and support workers in the south west.
Liskeard-Looe Community Nurse team provide home-based care. They are based at several surgeries in the area. They include Oaktree, Rosedean, and Oldbridge.
Kelly Sturrock is community coordinator for Liskeard Community Nurses.
She said:
"There were some amazing teams nominated so we are so proud to have won."
Several members of the team were at the awards. They were manager Phillippa Lockley, community matrons Kim Waterworth-Foss and Claire Watts, and registered nursing associate, Julian Kent.
Manager, Phillippa Lockley, says:
"This award is a testament to the hard work that has gone into strengthening our collaboration with GPs.
"Our focus has always been on working together to deliver the best possible outcomes for our patients.
"This award reflects the success of that shared commitment."
The team now have the glass trophy proudly displayed in their office.
