Trust pharmacist appointed Royal College of Pharmacy ambassador
As today marks World Pharmacists Day, we are thrilled to announce that Trust pharmacist Yung Strawbridge has been appointed as the new Royal College of Pharmacy ambassador for the south west.
Yung is the Trust's lead education and patient group directions pharmacist. She is 1 of 2 new ambassadors for the region. The other is Abigail Wilson. She is director of pharmacy at WithYou.
In her role, Yung will work closely with the Royal College of Pharmacy's Professional Engagement Team. She will support events, strengthen professional engagement, and collaborate with the wider healthcare community in the south west.
Yung says:
"It is an honour to be appointed as a Royal College of Pharmacy Ambassador for the south west. I look forward to meeting and working with pharmacy professionals and healthcare colleagues from across the region."
Last week, Yung was a keynote speaker at the national Royal College of Pharmacy Evolving Threads event. This was held as part of East and South East Asian Heritage Month.
During her keynote address, Yung spoke about her career journey. She also talked about her Vietnamese heritage. Yung went on to discuss vital work taking place in the Trust.
She said:
"It was an honour to be invited to be a keynote speaker. And to share my story. As a pharmacist, the chance to contribute to this celebration of heritage, identity, and belonging meant a great deal to me. I am proud of the work we do within the Trust. I am grateful to be part of a great team. A team that values, supports, and celebrates cultural diversity."
Throughout her career, Yung has developed skills in education. She has also made an impact in workforce development and medicines management. In patient group directions she has also played a vital role. Yung has also been key to pharmacy practice and professional development across the Trust.
