The Podiatry Service ensure that the population of Cornwall has access to a high quality and appropriate assessment system; this allows us to best determine the treatment plan suited for you.

The Podiatry Service offer a flexible service that matches the clinical need of each individual in Cornwall. The service offers Podiatry clinical experts trained and supported from Band 3 to Band 7.

  • Wound Management
  • Vascular Assessment
  • Lower Limb Musculo-skeletal assessment
  • Acute Foot Ulcer clinics
  • Nail surgery
  • Complete advice and care package planning
  • Individually categorised patient care plans
  • 72 hour Emergency appointments offered

Referrals

There are several areas of referral:
Self Referral – forms available at GP surgeries, clinic locations and from the Resources section
Referral by GP
Referral by Consultant
Referral by any other Health Practitioner

Service availability

The service is available 9 am – 5 pm, Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays.

Emergency Hotline

There is also an emergency Hotline; telephone number 01209 318093 which is manned 9.30am-4.30pm. The purpose of the hotline is to offer emergency access to patients with an urgent foot problem.  Or an electronic referral can be completed and sent to cft.podiatryhotline@nhs.net

Podiatrists work closely with Community Nursing teams, acute nursing, Practice Nurses, GPs, Consultants, Physiotherapists and Orthotists.
