The Practice Education Team have held their very first Development Week to celebrate the work of the Trust’s staff who have provided quality work-placements during the pandemic.
The event kicked off with a coaching session delivered to staff by PJ Holmes-Crips, whereby staff were able to take away the skills that will help them grow as student educators.
Staff commented that the week’s events “provided a good environment to discuss concerns, queries and pick-up helpful tips to ensure we offer students successful placements”.
“I found the developmental week particularly useful for many reasons” commented another staff member. “It was great to have a designated week of training which was easily accessible online. It was a great refresher ahead of student arrivals in autumn.”
Awards were distributed by the Practice Education Team to Trust staff for supporting students during an extremely challenging year. The winners were selected based on student feedback from those that have been on placement.
- Most Supportive Student Educator Award presented jointly to Tara Lewis and Laura Newing for their support of the Speech and Language Therapy students on placement.
