Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to announce Debbie Richards has been appointed as chief executive.
Originally from Cornwall, Debbie has 22 years’ senior level experience in clinical service delivery, commissioning and transformation across health and social care, having originally trained as a mental health social worker.
Margaret Schwarz said, “I am delighted we were able to secure Debbie for the role of chief executive. Throughout the recruitment process, she demonstrated the values and behaviours we were looking for. She demonstrated a commitment to patient needs, staff wellbeing, and effective and efficient delivery of services and we look forward to her joining the Trust.”
Debbie added, “Leading a community and mental health trust is my ambition and passion, and this exciting opportunity allows me to return to my roots and steer a trust that is driven to provide the very best care and services in the county of my birth.”
Debbie joins the Trust from Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust where she is the executive managing director of mental health, learning disabilities and autism services.
Interim chief executive, Dr Matthew Patrick will remain in post until Debbie joins the Trust in October 2021.
