Celebrations for over 3,500 years NHS service
Along with the 70th anniversary of the NHS in July, this year there have been celebrations taking place nation-wide in recognition of NHS workers, including Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust’s very first Long Service Awards.
On Thursday 4 October over 140 members of CFT staff with a combination of over 3,500 years’ service were recognised and thanked at the Long Service Awards hosted by the Trust at the Headland Hotel in Newquay.
The Trust’s Long Service Awards have been introduced in celebration of NHS70 and acknowledges every member of staff who has provided 25 years’ service or more to the NHS. Going forward, the Awards will be held annually.
CFT workers enjoyed a traditional afternoon tea and were thanked by Chief Executive, Phil Confue and Chair, Dr. Barbara Vann for their commitment to providing quality health care to the people of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
Chair, Dr. Barbara Vann commented “It was touching and heartwarming to hear the passion for patients and their experiences exemplified by the staff. I am proud to be the Chair of CFT and to have the opportunity to salute such wonderful staff.”
