Information for Potential Governors
Our governors are the interface between our members, patients, public, staff and our board of directors, who have operational responsibility for running our services.
Governors give a valuable perspective on projects and performance, are responsible for holding our non-executive directors to account for the performance of the board, and for ensuring that staff views are represented.
Each governor is a member of the Foundation Trust and is elected by their fellow members. Anyone who is a member can put themselves forward to be elected as a governor. No specific qualifications are needed, just a passion to get involved, and make a difference. If you aren't a member you can sign up online.
Our council of governors meets 4 times a year.
Individual governors are involved in Trust committees and working groups, and input into specific projects where their particular expertise or perspective is valuable.
